How do I reserve a vehicle? A booking is only confirmed when we receive a $300 deposit. If the booking date falls 30 days prior to the pick up day, then we will require full payment at the time of booking. Please contact our reservations department between 8 AM and 5 PM MST Monday to Saturday @ 1-800-461-7368 (toll free within North America), @ 291-1000 if calling from Calgary , Alberta or via email res@canadream.com.
When is full payment required? Full payment is required 30 days prior to the pick up day.
Are the prices in CDN$ or in US$? All prices are in Candian Dollars $.
Are taxes included in the prices? Yes. They will be automatically calculated and added to your reservation.
What papers do I require for renting the vehicle? We require a valid driver's license (must be valid until the drop-off day) for all drivers. In addition, we require a passport for international guests or an ID card for our US guests.
Do I need an International Driver's license? No. However, for translation purposes an International Driver's license will ensure ease of use in Canada and the United States.
Are there kilometer packages available and how much do they cost? Yes. We offer two kilometer packages. You can upgrade to 160 km per night for an additional $15 per night OR 250 km per night for an additional $35 km per night.
What does the extra kilometer cost if I go over? The extra kilometer cost is $ 0.29.
What type of gas mileage can I expect with my rental vehicle? As numerous conditions affect gas mileage (wind, hills, speed, driving habits, etc.) fuel consumption will vary according to the conditions. As a rough "rule of thumb", you could budget about 25 litres/100 kilometres.

CoverageTravel with full peace of mind. All CanaDream Inc. rental vehicles carry $5 million public liability and property damage insurance. The vehicles have a minimum $750 deductible for collision and comprehensive. This amount is a required deposit refundable upon the return of the vehicle in the same condition as it was received. Our insurance does not cover liability for loss of personal property, nor does it cover costs for accommodation, transportation or replacement of the vehicle if it is stolen or in an accident that makes the vehicle inoperable. Accidents must be reported immediately and be accompanied by a written accident report and police file number. Guests will be covered in the event of a mechanical breakdown that requires more than 48 hours for repair (radio, air conditioning, slide out, refrigerator, microwave, appliances and cruise control are not considered to be mechanical breakdowns). Guests assume full responsibility for damage to tires and undercarriage. Oil, tire pressure and coolant must be checked at each refueling. Costs for oil will be refunded upon presentation of receipts. The company's responsibility is limited to the refund of the daily gross rate, or portion thereof, if the breakdown repair is longer than 48 hours. A limit of $3,000 per vehicle per group applies. This benefit is not valid in the case of an accident or stolen vehicle.

Interior damage (not caused by two-vehicle accident on a numbered road): $750 ($1,250 for drivers 21-24 yrs old)
Collision with animals: $750 ($1,250 for drivers 21-24 yrs old)
Please note the following conditions There is no insurance coverage and guest will be responsible for all damages if the vehicle is driven to an unauthorized area without approval. These areas include logging and non public roads, travel to Mexico, the Alaska Highway north of Fort St. John, the 'No-Go' areas of the Denali and Dalton Highways in Alaska and the North Canol Highway in the Yukon Cassiar Highway (#37) north of Kitwanga, Highway 35 north of Peace River, Quebec & Labrador north and east of Sept-Iles and all roads in the Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Labrador and Newfoundland. CanaDream reserves the right to restrict driving access at anytime. These restrictions may be applied at the time of pick-up. There is a $900 penalty for unauthorized driving in these areas.
In addition, note that parking of your vehicle is prohibited in the greater metropolitan area of Montreal and Ottawa; this includes all pay parking lots, hotel parking lots, side streets, malls, etc. In these areas, park your vehicle at a campsite and use public transportation, taxi, etc.
Thefts in Montreal/Ottawa: $7500
Damages and accidents while driving in unauthorized areas: All costs
Damage and accidents caused while the vehicle is driven by unauthorized driver or driver under the influence of drugs/alcohol: All costs
Willful damage: All costs

A $10/night fee applies to any travel within the United States (including Alaska)

Replacement vehicles are not provided in the event of either a stolen vehicle or a "guest-at-fault" incident that leaves the vehicle inoperable. In these situations and depending on availability, a new, signed, rental agreement must be in place before a replacement vehicle is provided

Are bikes rentals available? We are able to refer you to mountain bike rental stores in Vancouver and Calgary only. Sorry, this option is not available for one-way rentals. The approximate cost per bike is $100/week.
What does the Preparation Fee include? This fee includes transfers to and from the airport & airport area hotels, and vehicle preparation (first supply of propane and toilet chemicals).
Do we offer one-way rentals between our locations? Yes, we offer one-ways between our 9 locations. These do require prior authorization, which can be arranged by calling our Central Reservations at 1-800-461-7368.
What are CanaDream's one-way fees? We charge $550 for one-ways between Vancouver and Calgary - all other one-ways are $750.
We are planning to travel to the Yukon / Whitehorse. Are there any extra charges? There is a surcharge of $500 for rentals starting from Victoria, Vancouver, Kelowna, Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto, Montreal or Halifax with permission to travel on/in: Alaska Highway north of Fort St. John, British Columbia
Cassiar Highway (#37) north of Kitwanga, British Columbia
Highway 35 north of Peace River, Alberta
Northwest Territories, Yukon, Nunavut, Newfoundland
Quebec & Labrador north and east of Sept-Iles
Permission is automatically granted to travel in above areas with pick ups in Whitehorse with the exception of the 'No-Go' areas of the Denali and Dalton Highways in Alaska and the North Canol Highway in the Yukon. Vehicles for northern travel must be expressly requested and confirmed at the time of reservation. Customers who travel to these areas without permission will be subject to a $900 penalty and will void all insurance coverage. CanaDream reserves the right to restrict driving access at anytime. These restrictions may be applied at the time of pick-up.
We are planning to travel to the Newfoundland. Are there any extra charges? For traveling to Newfoundland, Labrador, and north and east of Sept-Iles, Quebec, the NORTHERN SURCHAGE is $500. There is no coverage should you have an accident in the above areas if northern travel is not pre-authorized.
How many drivers are included in the rental? One driver is included in the rental. We charge $ 5 per night for the entire rental period per additional driver. There is no coverage should an unauthorized driver be involved in an accident.
If I want to travel to the US, is there an extra charge? Yes, we charge $10/night for those nights spent in the US. If you are not sure how many nights you will spend in the US or you are not sure if you will travel at all in the US, we give you the option to call us on our toll free number (1-800-461-7368) to advise us of the number of nights you will spend in the US. We will process the fee on your credit card. Please be aware, there is no coverage should you travel in the US without prior authorization.
When can we pick-up the vehicle? The pick-up time of our vehicles is between 1 and 4 PM from Monday to Saturday. Please call the station on the morning of your pick-up to schedule your pick-up appointment.
Before you pick up your vehicle, we need to ensure it has been cleaned thoroughly, and checked mechanically. Arriving at a station without a prior appointment may result in delays, so please try to phone ahead so we can ensure things go as smoothly as possible.
You can also call to arrange transportation to the station from airport or airport area hotels. We would like to make your experience as pleasant and efficient as possible but do require your co-operation!

In what condition will I receive my vehicle? We guarantee that all our units will be "ready to go" when you receive them. They will be thoroughly cleaned, with fully charged batteries, full tanks of propane, and empty holding tanks. If you have chosen to include our convenience kit option, we will ensure that they are complete and that they have been placed in your vehicle.
We would like to pick-up or drop-off on a Sunday. Is this possible? Our stations are usually closed on Sundays; however, we do arrange special pick-ups and drop-offs for an extra fee of $375 per occurrence.
How long will the drop-off process take? As long as the vehicle is returned in a clean, undamaged condition with all equipment and/or convenience kits returned (and holding tanks emptied), the drop-off takes approximately ? hour.
Do I need to empty the holding tanks at the end of my trip? Yes, both the gray and black water tanks must be emptied into appropriate dump stations before the unit is returned.Otherwise a $75.00 charge applies.
How much fuel do I need to return with the vehicle? You will receive the vehicle with at least ? tank of fuel. You must return it with at least that amount or you will be charged a fuel fee. Propane tanks may be returned empty.
How clean does the vehicle need to be when I return it? Please sweep out the unit, ensure the fridge is empty with any spills wiped out, and that the stove is wiped down so it is free of grease. If you choose not to clean your unit, cleaning charges of $50.00/hour will apply.
May I smoke in the vehicle? No. If you smoke in the unit, a $300 defuming and sanitizing charge will be applied if cigarette smoke is detected upon drop-off.
Are we permitted to tow anything? Our vehicles are not equipped with a hitch and we do not allow any towing. Your insurance coverage with CanaDream will not cover any kind of accident if you are towing anything.
Can I put a canoe or other objects on the roof of the vehicle? We do not allow the transportation of canoes or other objects on the roofs of our vehicles. To prevent accidents, we do not install ladders on our vehicles. There is no coverage for any type of accident as a result of transporting an object on the roof of the vehicle.
